Inés Corvalán was born in Buenos Aires and raised between Argentina and the American Southwest. Her essays on memoir, family, and personal healing have appeared in The Sun, Guernica, and The Rumpus, and her wellness column ran for four years in a national women's monthly.

Her debut memoir grew from a decade of journals kept during her mother's long illness — a self-help of sorts, though she resists the term, offered instead as one honest account of what it takes to become, quietly, a person of your own.

She lives in Santa Fe with her partner and two rescued desert dogs, and teaches a small workshop each spring on writing the personal.
